Introducing Regenerative Organic Blend, created with coffees grown using regenerative farming practices that heal the earth. This seasonally evolving blend supports a farming method that revitalizes soil health, promotes biodiversity, and fights climate change.
This iteration is built around a fully-washed coffee produced on family-owned farms organized around AsociaciĂ³n de Productores Agropecuarios de Santa Rosa (ASPRASAR). ASPRASAR is a producer association with 94 members who live in and around the town of Saldaña, a municipality in the department of Tolima, Colombia. ASPRASAR was founded in 2016 and works in collaboration with an export company called Lohas Beans to establish connections in the specialty coffee market. This relationship has increased the income of the group’s members, enabling them to reinvest in their farms, provide for their families, and increase the quality of the coffee they produce. Lohas Beans has also helped producers gain access to technical support for best agricultural practices and innovative coffee processing methods. This coffee is the foundation of the blend and contributes sweet flavors of nuts and citrus.
We then added a natural, or dry processed coffee produced by members of Cooperativa Escuela Modesto Armijo (PROCAFE), located in the municipality of San Juan del RĂo Coco in the Madriz department of Nicaragua. Established in 2011, the group was created to promote the coffees produced in the area and provide training and market access to the coffee growers in the community. Currently, PROCAFE has 165 members, of which 56 are women. Natural, or dry processed coffee is left to dry with the coffee cherry fully intact on the beans, resulting in a fruit-forward flavor profile. While used in a relatively small percentage in this blend, the impact on the blend’s flavor is apparent.

Why We Love This Coffee
We do not attempt to maintain a fixed flavor profile for Regenerative Organic Blend as we do with our year-round blends. Instead, we work with in-season Regenerative Organic Certifiedâ„¢ coffees to develop a blend that shows off the flavors of the component coffees in unique ways.
This version is a medium level roast, and features balanced and sweet flavors of butterscotch, chocolate, and dried fruit. It’s dark and robust enough to stand up to the addition of milk, yet sweet enough to drink black.

Good Coffee, Better Planet
A relatively new and all encompassing certification, Regenerative Organic Certifiedâ„¢, combines aspects of both Organic and Fair Trade certifications.
Climate change is disproportionately affecting the tropical and subtropical regions where coffee is grown:
- 50% of global land area suitable for coffee production may be lost by 2050 due to climate change
- 60% of coffee species are considered at high risk of extinction
- 25M smallholder coffee growers are at risk of losing their primary source of income due to declining coffee yields
Regenerative agriculture--a practice of holistic farming where everything is seen as interconnected and vital--can build resilience to mitigate the effects of climate change and protect the future of coffee and our planet. ROCâ„¢ was established in 2017 to promote holistic agriculture practices in an all-encompassing certification that champions three pillars:
1. Soil Health & Land Management
2. Animal Welfare
3. Farmer & Worker Fairness
