Origin Story

COMUCAP (Honduras)
Fabicoop (Colombia)
La Prosperidad de Chirinos (Peru)

This year’s Golden Hour blend is built around a fully washed coffee produced by members of COMUCAP (AsociaciĂ³n Coordinadora de Mujeres Campesinas de La Paz), a women’s cooperative located in the Marcala growing region of southwestern Honduras. The association collectively owns over 100 hectares of farmland, as well as a wet mill, drying patios, and cupping and roasting rooms. Thanks to the success of the association, many of the members have been able to purchase their own land where they cultivate additional coffee and other crops. This coffee’s sweet and delicate flavor profile is the backdrop for Golden Hour’s other more nuanced components.

We then added a coffee from Colombia that complements the delicate COMUCAP by contributing distinct cherry-like flavors to the blend. Produced by members of the Fabicoop group located in the Tolima region, this coffee was processed using the natural method where the fruit is left to dry on the beans fully intact, imparting intense fruit-forward flavors into the coffee.

We finished the blend with a second fully washed Latin American coffee La Prosperidad de Chirinos, a coffee grower’s cooperative located in northern Peru’s San Ignacio province, within the Cajamarca growing region. This coffee helps to round out Golden Hour’s flavor profile by adding notes of fruit-toned bittersweet chocolate.

Why We Love This Coffee

Evoking warmth and tranquility, Golden Hour is a moment that invites you to linger and bask in the glow around you. For this summer’s Golden Hour Blend, we sourced the core component coffee from COMUCAP, a women’s coffee cooperative in Honduras with whom we’ve had a sourcing relationship for over a decade.

Golden Hour is a seasonal blend that gives us the opportunity to take single-origin coffees we enjoy on their own and combine them in unique ways to create something delicious!

Golden Hour is offered each year during the extended summer months from July-October, so be sure to get it while it lasts!
